  4.     I was pleased to see your report on "The Greening of Hollywood"
  5. (SHOW BUSINESS, June 12), which addressed the involvement of
  6. celebrities in various environmental issues. The U.S. Department
  7. of the Interior is the lead agency for Take Pride in America, which
  8. sponsors the environmental announcements by the TV character ALF.
  9. Certainly, as "landlord" of more than 500 million acres of public
  10. land, I know the enormous problems associated with careless use and
  11. intentional abuse of our resources. We must use these treasures
  12. prudently and pass them unspoiled to our children and
  13. grandchildren. The Take Pride in America campaign stresses
  14. voluntarism and education. We can all help in some way, and each
  15. of us can make a difference.
